Are you a logistics talent who enjoys taking the lead on international transports? Do you get energy from client contact, organizing transports and solving logistical challenges? Then we're looking for you! For our small, family-style office in Rotterdam, we are looking for an Import Sea Freight Forwarder. In this role, you are responsible for the complete handling of import shipments. You manage your own client portfolio and liaise daily with clients, shipping lines, carriers and customs partners to ensure every shipment runs smoothly and efficiently.
What you'll be doing:
You coordinate and handle FCL and LCL import shipments from A to Z.
You maintain daily contact with clients, including German companies, and ensure clear communication.
You request rates from carriers and check them carefully for accuracy and cost.
You prepare and submit customs declarations correctly and on time.
You organize the entire logistics process: from loading and unloading to transport to the end client.
You manage your own client portfolio and keep clients proactively informed of the progress of their shipments.
What you bring:
You have a solid foundation in transport or forwarding and are ready for the next step in your career. You are entrepreneurial, take initiative, and see yourself growing within the organization over time.
In addition, you have:
MBO+ (or HBO) level of work and thinking, preferably in logistics or transport.
At least 1-2 years of experience as a forwarder.
Good command of the Dutch and English languages; German is a plus.
Experience with (customs) forwarding and Microsoft Office systems.
Knowledge of logistics processes and relevant laws and regulations.
